Book Review: A Matter of Time by Michael J. Bowler

A Matter of Time
By Michael J. Bowler
Genre: Romance, Thriller

Book Description:

The world’s greatest evil stalks the world’s greatest ship, and the only one who can stop him hasn’t been born yet.

Jamie Collins is a junior at Santa Clara University in 1986. He has friends, a professor who mentors him, and a promising future as a writer.

Then the dreams begin - nightmarish memories that transport him back to a time and place fifty years before he was born: Titanic’s maiden voyage in 1912.

When Jamie discovers a foreign cell in his blood that links him to the famous vessel, the two timelines begin to overlap and he realizes an unimaginable truth - something supernatural stalks the ill-fated ship, something that will kill him if he can’t stop it first. And the only way to stop it may be to prevent Titanic from sinking.

But even if he can figure out a way to do that, should he? What will be the effect on history if he succeeds? And what about the lady he wasn’t supposed to fall in love with? As her destiny becomes entwined with his, Jamie discovers the value of friendship, the power of love, the impact of evil, and the vagaries of Fate.

Book Review:

A Matter of Time is about a college student, Jamie, who can do something that no one else can. Travel back in time. More specifically to the time where the Titanic has been set off to sea. Jamie learns that there is a specific reason why he has been brought back to 1912 when the Titanic is launched. To prevent the ship from sinking. With the help of friends and fate, Jamie will make history.

A Matter of Time is amazing! Am I surprised that it was? No of course not, it's a Michael J. Bowler book. His books never disappoint me; I'm delighted that I got to review A Matter of Time. It's filled with adventures plus the right mixture of good and evil.

On that note, A Matter of Time has a great plot. I thought it was awesome that this "normal" college dude discovered that he could TRAVEL back in time. To the Titanic, nonetheless. I was confused about the "foreign cell" part, but it eventually came together at the end.

I liked that when Jamie was telling his friends about what he could do, they had a perfectly average reaction, freaked and weirded out. So when Jamie's friend, Dan, was like I wanna come with so you don't do anything dumb, I geeked out a little. Mainly because I'm a sucker for best friends in books.

A Matter of Time is awesome. I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to any action-adventure book lover, but in general, I would recommend all of Michael J. Bowler's books. Five stars!
